KEG February Update

Golf Club Site - Traffic, appearance, ...

Vistry have now submitted their latest Construction Method Statement (Revision B) which deals with matters such as access to the site, dust control, noise mitigation and traffic management together with other site matters such as lighting, security and storage.  KEG is very concerned that the proposed road safety measures are inadequate because the expected large numbers of heavy vehicles travelling along Kidmore End Road present a serious risk to children and other pedestrians.

There are proposals to limit the times when delivery vehicles can access the site (Section K) but no reference to limiting the times when the same vehicles can leave.

The proposals for dust and noise monitoring (Sections N & M) are not comprehensive and there is no plan to allow local groups to have access to the readings from the monitors to be installed.

The Method Statement can be viewed on the RBC Planning Portal, application 230024 (click here).  Please submit your comments via the planning portal by 10 February 2023. LLikely that late responses will also be considered.

There is also a further planning application (220930, click here) which has still to be approved by the Planning Applications Committee and this concerns the appearance and design of the houses.  There has been a great deal of comment received by KEG that the housing is out of keeping with the surrounding area.  Do take a few minutes to look at the housing designs on the Planning Portal and make any comments that you feel appropriate.

Hedge renovation along Kidmore End Road

Volunteers are still needed to assist with the hedge clearance and improvement at the Recreation Ground along Kidmore End Road.  If you can spare a little time to help out, the team is meeting at 10am each Tuesday during February to work on the hedge, weather permitting.  Do come along!

If you have any news or questions about developments in the locality, please contact us.

Thank you,
KEG.
