We submitted our main objection document on Reading Golf Club’s planning application on the 11th September 2020.

We have also submitted three supplementary objections in response to additional information. The first was the response by South Oxfordshire to Reading Borough Transport’s consultation, indicating that they cannot be considered a ‘delivery partner’ for the third bridge as proposed by Reading Borough Council. KEG’s position is that the proposal of a third bridge cannot be used as mitigation by the developers for worse traffic in the shorter (and probably longer) term, as the proposal remains unlikely to ever be implemented.

The second supplementary objection is in regard to Climate change as a material objection

The third supplementary objection is in regard to the Golf Club’s change of plans (revision) for their land in SODC, submitted to the council on the final day of the public consultation.
The consultation has now closed, though if you have material considerations please do email the council. Here are some guidelines for your own objections.
Here’s the introduction to our main objection;
Our objection to Planning Application 200713
This document represents an analysis and critique of Planning Application Number 200713, Reading Golf Club (RGC).
It is submitted by Keep Emmer Green (KEG), a group representing approximately 1,000 local residents who are all concerned with unsustainable development in the locality. The Council should be aware that RGC have not engaged in any substantive consultation with local residents or groups representing local residents, such as KEG, EGRA and CADRA.
KEG’s analysis of the planning application that follows has been meticulous and informed by numerous experts. The bulk of the analysis mirrors the structure presented to the Council by the applicant, followed by Appendices containing the detailed evidence. The Appendices are an important and integral part of our objection and should be considered as part of our overall case. We have been able to find and have highlighted numerous miscalculations, incorrect assumptions, basic mistakes and unreasonable conclusions.
As a result, we find that much of the application is devalued and invalid particularly where the applicant uses out of date, unreliable or unsubstantiated data to predict conditions in the future. We highlight where the applicant makes proposals which are contrary to Council Policies and the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF).
We find a staggering 25 instances of major policy non-compliance. Surveys carried out by KEG, EGRA and Matt Rodda MP, all overwhelmingly condemn and object to the proposed development. The council should be impressed with the strength and depth of public opinion. The number of local residents who have written independently to the council is significant and of undeniable magnitude. They have demonstrated that they are passionate about protecting this lovely, peaceful area and are mindful of the appalling legacy that will be left if the application were to proceed.
The individuals and groups in Emmer Green emphatically say NO and OBJECT to this development.
