Reading Borough Council (RBC) have announced that the outline planning application for a residential development on land at Reading Golf Club, reference 200713 has been withdrawn by the applicant. This notification was made to the Council on 25 November.
The Planning Department has asked that no further representations are submitted against application 200713.
Whilst this may appear to be a victory for everyone who did such a great job of objecting to the planning application, Reading Golf Club have stated that a revised (new) planning application will be made to RBC in the New Year when a new consultation process will begin and representations/comments will have to be made again based on the new planning application.
Reading Golf Club will claim that they are listening to local residents but it is clear that after their discussions with the council that their plans were set to be summarily rejected. We are in contact with Reading Borough Council to understand the discussions that led to this decision and will let you know as soon as we have more information.
