This is our first email communication of 2021 and with it we wish all our supporters a very Happy New Year. We hope that you are as safe as possible.
Planning Application
We had hoped for some respite from the anguish of planning applications but on the 7th January Reading Golf Club submitted another planning application.
The application is currently undergoing validation by Reading Borough Council (RBC). No information will be available until the validation process is completed. Once validated, RBC will publish the application on their planning portal.
The last application took several months to be validated. This time we expect it to be shorter. As soon as we have any more information, we will let you know.
PLEASE NOTE: If you objected to the first planning application, you will have to do it again because your first objection will not count towards the second planning application.
We know this is very frustrating, but it is the way the Council operate. We did it before and we can do it again!
As soon as we have sight of the new application, as before, we will analyse the application, summarise it and provide you with advice.
Can we get an even bigger community response?
Last time there were over 2000 objections, we hope to get an increased number this time. Can we collectively achieve 4000 objections? This will show the Council, the Planning Committee and Councillors that there is a continued and expanding level of concern by the whole community to the imposition of a major housing development right in the heart of Emmer Green.
Please talk to your friends and neighbours, give them a copy of the KEG communications and encourage them to sign up for the KEG newsletter. This will not only keep them up to date on the planning application, but it will also make it easier for them to write a letter of objection. If everyone were to do this, it will have an even bigger impact on the people taking the decisions.
